It seems like most women would give their right arm for a kiss from Brad Pitt, but Kirsten Dunst describes their on-screen smooch as "disgusting" in a recent Bullet Magazine interview. In the 1994 film Interview With The Vampire, Dunst and Pitt play eternal bloodsuckers dealing with immortality. Kirsten, now 30 years old, was just 10 during the filming of the movie and considered the kiss with the Hollywood heartthrob to be more awkward than anything else. She is currently dating (and kissing) Garrett Hedlund.
Interview With The Vampire was a breakout role for Dunst, who has had a successful career in the film industry ever since with roles in The Virgin Suicides, Bring It On, and Melancholia. But she still gets questions about her enthralling portrayal of a child vampire who is stuck in her youth forever.
"It was just a peck," she says of the kiss, which was a pretty big moment for her character in the film. "I remember Brad would watch lots of Real World episodes. He had this long hair. He was just a hippie-ish cool dude. Everyone at the time was like, 'You're so lucky you kissed Brad Pitt,' but I thought it was disgusting. I didn't kiss anyone else until I was 16, I think. I was a late bloomer."
But Dunst has always felt this way of the kiss. In 1998 she told Interview Magazine: "Kissing Brad was so uncomfortable for me. I remember saying in interviews that I thought it was gross, that Brad had cooties. I mean, I was 10."
"It was horrible, and I hated it. Brad and Tom were like my big brothers on the set, so it was like kissing your big brother -- totally gross! He said, 'How do you think I feel? I have to kiss a little girl.' It was awful!"
