The 6th seeded Arizona Wildcats are set to take on the 2nd seed Ohio State Buckeyes at the Staples Center in Los Angeles tonight. The game starts at 7:35 pm EST and will air on TBS.
Arizona destroyed 11th seed Belmont 81-64 and marched on to beat the bracket-busting 14 seed Harvard Crimson (who had taken down 3 seed New Mexico to advance to the round of 32).
Ohio State cruised to a win over 15 seed Iona (95-70) before receiving a wake-up call in the form of 10 seed Iowa State. The Buckeyes narrowly eked out a win over the underdogs in the final seconds of their matchup.
Keys to the Matchup for Arizona: Defend and Get Physical
When the Buckeyes get cold, they get really cold. Their offense is incredibly streaky and has had the good fortune to face some terrible defenses on their way to this match. Arizona is not those teams. They are a defensive monster who ranks high in efficiency and possesses some powerful big men. Make every basket difficult and you'll be walking out of the Staples Center (who will be cheering for you, anyway) with a W.
Keys To The Matchup for Ohio State University: Box out, box out, box out
Seriously, the big men of Arizona can crash the glass like nobody's business. Solomon Hill, Kaleb Tarczewski and Brandon Ashley accounted for 26 of the teams 39 rebounds against the Crimson and teams stand a slim chance of winning without taking away second chance points and defensive snags from the elite squad.
