After working with Sidharth Anand in Bang Bang, Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan proved to his fans that not only he can dance but also he can kill the bad guys. Now, the director is planning to make the Bollywood remake of Sylvester Stallone starrer Rambo and he is wanting to work with Roshan in this grand project.
While talking to Times of India, the man who made his Bollywood debut as a director by directing Salaam Namaste in 2006 confirmed the news that he is working on the Hindi adaptation of Rambo, but at the same time he did not reveal too much information about the lead cast. When it was asked about his collaboration with Roshan in Rambo, Anand just said that he has not finalised any cast for the film.
"Hrithik is always on top of my mind but I haven't finalised anyone as yet. It can be a new actor as well," Anand said.
Anand further said that he has bought the rights of the film two years back and he just completed writing the script. Anand also stated that the Hindi version of Rambo will have an Indian touch as they cannot show the internal conflicts which were shown in the Stallone films. Anand was quoted by Bollywood Hungama as stating:
"The film is a trilogy but different from the U.S version. In fact, the original film dealt with internal conflicts, the then situation in U.S, the Afghan war among others which cannot be used for India. Hence, the Indian version will deal with our situations, our concepts, our wars. It is the mythology of Rambo that we want to retain. It is a cult. Our character of Rambo will have his own angst."
Anand and Roshan earlier collaborated for the remake of Tom Cruise's Knight and Day, titled Bang Bang. Roshan shared the screen space with Katrina Kaif and the film got an amazing response from fans in India for its action sequences and the onscreen chemistry between Kaif and Roshan. If Anand repeats this cast in Rambo, then the upcoming untitled film will surely be very interesting.
Stallone has already announced his retirement from the Rambo series and even we think that this is the right time for a reboot.
