Now that rapper Lil Wayne's back on good terms with Cash Money Records mogul Birdman, apparently Young Thug officially hopes to end his ongoing beef with the YMCMB superstar, too. In fact, his hip-hop career's totally inspired by Weezy!
"I always paid attention to Lil Wayne, close attention. He's my idol. He's still my idol. I still know all his music, everything that he's putting out now, I still know everything, I pay attention to him," Thug explained in a recent Beats 1 radio interview with Ebro Darden. "When he came in as a Hot Boy, he was a street n*gga... But as he grew, he had tight clothes, rock star - you know what I'm sayin'? So I guess I went the same path, because I always paid attention to him... He's iconic, I always paid attention to him like that... I would die if I don't be like him."
Perhaps Wayne will even appear on the Barter 6 emcee's new mixtape, I'm Up. Originally entitled Slime Season 3, the highly-anticipated follow-up should hit airwaves on February 15.
Well, things are now going pretty well between the former industry "frenemies." But now, Thug isn't too pleased with fellow rapper, Future...
Ciara's ex-fiance continues hyping EVOL on Twitter, and apparently Thug's tired of such online competition:
@future: "Sh!t bout to get real in a few hrs... My tweets worth millions now... in real life."
@youngthug: "Boy slow down dropping all that BS music... Yo family/team wish u was me lil n*gga..."
@1future: "Yo b*tch wish u was me... in real life."
@1future: "New Deal Alert @AppleMusic."
@youngthug: "I hope Apple save u lil n*ggas.... Or church!!!!"
@youngthug: "'I'm up' just signed a million dollar D, now that's EPIC... But we don't need it, and u no y!!!"
@1future: "Fly Sh*t Only... Low Life #EVOL."
Stay tuned for any further updates...
