Bollywood sensational beauty, Deepika Padukone, is currently in Canada to shoot her the sequel of XXX with Vin Diesel. The Piku actress has not signed any Bollywood film for 2016 but she hinted to her fans that she would love to star in a biopic on Saina Nehwal's life.
Nehwal is an Indian badminton player who has been for some time ranked #1 in the world by Badminton World Federation Women's Singles 2015. According to NDTV Sports, she is the first Indian to win a medal in Badminton at the Olympics. On the other hand, Padukone has had great experience as a badminton player. In an interview with Times of India, the Bajirao Mastani actress said that while growing up, she used to train herself for badminton as her father, Prakash Padukone is an acclaimed Indian badminton player.
"I would wake up at five in the morning, go for physical training, go to school, again go for playing badminton, finish my homework and go to sleep."
Padukone continued to pursue a career in badminton throughout her school years and even played the sports at the national level championships.
Now, based on her prior experiences in this sports, she would be perfect to play the role of Nehwal. In a recent interview with India Times, Padukone did mention her desire to play the character of Nehwal on 70mm.
"I would love to play Saina on screen. In fact, we have played together, and obviously, she was way better ... She also said that I was 'good' at it. We had a fun time... Of course, anything for the love of sports... especially if it is badminton."
Even Nehwal thinks that Padukone would be the perfect choice to play her role on screen. The acclaimed badminton player was quoted by Indian Express as saying, "Of course Deepika Padukone. She used to play badminton. Her father was a badminton player. I think she would do good justice to the role. I wish she could do the role."
