The New York Islanders vs. the Pittsburgh Penguins battle it out on the ice at the CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh, PA on Saturday, March 30 at 1:00 p.m. ET. Read on to see where fans can watch and listen to a live stream of the Thursday afternoon hockey game online and catch up-to-date feeds and coverage on highlight plays and scores.
The Islanders head into Saturday afternoon's game as the no 4 team in the NHL Eastern Atlantic Conference. New York snags the overall no 22 spot in the division, with a 16-15-3 record. According to ESPN sports columnist Marc Stein, "The trip that defines their playoff hopes this season? Games in Washington, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and New Jersey coming up."
Meanwhile, the Penguins snag the no 1 spot in the NHL Eastern Atlantic Conference, and the no 2 overall spot with a 27-8-0 record (out of 30 teams). As Stein puts it, "Make it a dozen wins a row for Sidney Crosby and the gang. And now they get to welcome veteran winger Brenden Morrow to the fold after his Sunday acquisition from Dallas. Ray Shero strikes again."
Tonight's battle on the ice should prove a fierce one between one of the NHL's best teams, and one of its worst.
The game will be broadcasted live on local channels MSG-Plus and ROOT, but fans can also listen in on the radio at WRHU, WBBR, 105.9 The X, and 970 ESPN.
