The end is finally here for Seattle Seahawks star Marshawn Lynch. The 29 year old that we all know as "Beast Mode" made a surprising announcement via social media. During the fourth quarter of Super Bowl 50, the NFL star posted an image on Twitter of cleats hanging from a power line and a peace sign emoji to announce his retirement. After putting in work for nine seasons, Beast Mode has decided to make his exit from the league. The star athlete that is most notably known for the statement, "I'm just here so I won't get fined" is more than likely not touching the football field again. After weeks of speculation while watching him only be able to play only seven games, the news doesn't come as much of a shock.

After the tweet was posted, the official Seattle Seahawks account has retweeted Lynch's tweet with the hashtag #ThankYouBeastMode. So it is clear to say that the retirement announcement will stick. According to Daily Mail, the team told the Associated Press that the tweet would stand as its statement on the 29 year old's decision. Seahawks owner, Paul Allen, also took the tweet for what it was and has stood by Beast Mode's position. "Thank you for a great career as a Seahawk, Allen tweeted. "So many memorable runs and quakes." Teammates Russell Wilson and Richard Sherman quickly showed their support for their fellow players decision.

Lynch has had quite a successful career. The football star has a Super Bowl championship under his belt, made two appearances at the Super Bowl and has led the league in rushing yards twice. Being one of the top running backs in NFL history, it is safe to say that Marshawn Lynch has made his mark.
