There is less than a week left before the mid-season premiere of The Walking Dead Season 6, but new details about the show continue to surface. This time, promo art for the AMC series reveals that a main character will suffer a major injury that has already happened in the comic book. But will it happen to Rick (Andrew Lincoln), Glenn (Steven Yeun) or Daryl (Norman Reedus)?
SpoilerTV has just uncovered The Walking Dead Season 6 promo art featuring Carl Grimes (Chandler Riggs) sporting a bandage over his right eye. Although the site did not offer any explanation on where they found the image, it appears to be taken from a Russian outlet. In addition to that, the photo has the FOX logo (in other countries, TWD is aired on the FOX Channel).
Carl's injury may be shocking to fans of the show, but it is nothing new to comic book readers. In the issue ''No Way Out,'' Carl's eye is accidentally shot by Douglas Monroe when Rick chops off Jessie's hand when the group is attacked by the walker horde. Luckily, Denise Cloyd manages to save Carl but his eye is beyond repair.
But here's the interesting part: The events that led to Carl's injury are extremely similar to the last scene in the show's mid-season finale, where Rick, Carl, Jessie, Sam, Ron, Michonne and Gabriel use zombie entrails to escape the sea of walkers. In addition to that, the mid-season premiere episode is also titled ''No Way Out.''
But how exactly will Carl get shot in the eye if Douglas Monroe does not exist in the TV show? There is a possibility that Ron (Austin Abrams) will shoot Carl after his mother and brother are attacked by walkers.
Find out what happens next when No Way Out, the mid-season premiere of The Walking Dead Season 6 airs on AMC on February 14.
