Louisville player Kevin Ware has successfully made it through a surgery on his broken leg last night. The guard broke his leg in two places after landing awkwardly while attempting a block. He left the court on a stretcher as emotional teammates cried openly. The horrific injury caused a surge of well wishes on Twitter (including a push for Louisville to #Win4Ware). Even celebrities like Lil Wayne let their hopes for the young player be known.

"May God Be With Kevin Ware and his family. Ya in my prayers bro," the I Am Not A Human Being II rapper tweeted.
The tweet was shared over 10,000 times and favorite by more than 4,000 people.
The gruesome sight of Ware's shattered leg upset people inside and outside Lucas Oil stadium. CBS stopped showing the replay and Coach Pitino almost lost his lunch once he saw the extent of the damage to Ware's leg.
''I went over and I was going to help him up and then all of a sudden, I saw what it was and I almost literally threw up,'' Pitino said.
Pitino collected himself and urged his players to win the game and allow Ware to return to his hometown of Atlanta for the Final Four.
'I said, 'We're going to dig in. We're going to play this game to the end. We're going to play this game to get him back home,''' Pitino said, explaining his halftime speech. ''We'll get him back home, nurse him to good health and we're going to get him to Atlanta.'
The Louisville Cardinals went on to win the game against Duke and advance to the Final Four. Coach Rick Pitino showed up at the Indianapolis hospital where Ware was resting and presented Ware with the regional championship trophy.
'He was groggy, in good spirits. He saw us win the trophy and was crying and said it was all worthwhile,'' coach Rick Pitino told The Associated Press. ''We didn't cut down the net, but I left him the trophy.''
Pitino, his son, an equipment manager and the team's doctors all spent the night in Indy with Ware.
Officials from Louisville say that doctors reset the bone and inserted a rod into Ware's tibia during the two hour procedure.
