Rick Ross's latest controversial lyrics on Rokco's single 'U.O.E.N.O.' in which the former corrections officer, turned rapper raps about slipping a woman a molly and taking her home to "enjoy" her, all while, "she didn't even know it," has thought provoking rappers and activists Lupe Fiasco and Talib Kweli speaking out about the controversial lyrics.
The conversation about Rick Ross, ignited when a teacher, identified by her Twitter account as Toni Blackman, reached out to Kweli to ask him how she could teach her students to "respect women" when they are listening to Rick Ross. Kweli suggested that Blackman allow students to listen to "hip-hop that celebrates women." "There is plenty of it, and it ain't just for when you want to prove a point," Kweli tweeted.

Lupe Fiasco joined the twitter convo, when the redirect shifted to how rappers and the communities in which they are from influence violent lyrics and violence in the communities. Lupe Tweeted:
"Name one other form of mainstream MUSIC that CONSTANTLY pushes violence and death?" Followed by, "Negative lyrics are a symtom, not a cause of pathologies in our community."
With regards to Rick Ross's apology in which he stated that neither he nor the hip-hop industry "condoned rape," Talib Kweli tweeted Friday, that Rick Ross needed to apologize accordingly. "Its clear from Ross apology that he doesn't understand u don't need to actually say "rape" to condone rape. I feel he should still apologize."
Talib also tweeted:
Ross needs love and education on this issue. He has a platform that can be used for good, especially if he takes responsibility here.
