Chris Brown has come along way since the 2009 felony assault on Bajan Princess Rihanna. After having a less than respectful image with fans and the media, Brown recently told reporters that the "negativity was behind him."
In an attempt to redefine his relationship with the press while promoting his forthcoming album X, Brown stopped by NBC's Today Show Monday, April 1, 2013. While promoting his latest single "Fine China", produced by hit maker Diplo, who has worked with Brown on chart toping singles like the 2011 hit "Look At Me Now," Brown chatted with host Matt Lauer about life after the assault of on again off again girlfriend Rihanna.
"I've been humbled by the whole experience. From me losing everything, you know, to me having to regain public opinion or whatever it is," Brown told Laurer, "but most importantly, knowing that what I did was totally wrong and having to kind of deal with myself and kind of forgive myself in the same breath and being able to apologize to, you know."
In regards to his relationship with Rihanna, which he recently admitted to LA's Power 106 DJ Big Boi was over, Brown told Lauer:
"Yeah, everything's good, we're fine. I think it's just me proving myself once again. Knowing that what I did was wrong, and never doing it again. So as far as me and (Rihanna) are concerned, she knows my heart, and I know her heart. So I'm not really focused on the negative."
Well isn't this contradictory? Brown will appear at San Francisco's Wild 94.9 Wild Jam with Trey Songz and Calvin Harris.
