Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, Other A-Listers Attend AmfAR Gala NY Party 2016

Last Wednesday, Leonardo DiCaprio showed up at the 2016 annual amfAR Gala in New York City. Making an appearance at the star-studded party were the likes of DiCaprio's former co-star Robert De Niro, DiCaprio's ex-girlfriend and former Gossip Girl star Blake Lively and Lively's husband Hollywood heartthrob Ryan Reynolds.

De Niro and DiCaprio were seen together in three movies, This Boy's Life, One Hundred and One Nights, and Marvin's Room. The event was in honor of producer Harvey Weinstein, best known as one of the co-founders of Miramax.

According to the Daily Mail, The Revenant actor was surrounded by the top fashion models at the gala. DiCaprio, who wore a classic suit and appeared far more mature thanks to his facial hair, chatted with a mystery brunette.

Popsugar reports DiCaprio's appearance at the bash could be the start of an exciting season for the celebrity amidst wide speculations that he may bring home his very first Oscar award this year. The actor won the 2016 Golden Globe award for a drama, as well as garnering awards at the Critics' Choice Awards, the SAG Awards and most recently won in the prestigious BAFTA awards for Best Actor.

The Daily Mail reported that the Titanic actor was seen celebrating with Irish stunner Laura Whitmore after the BAFTAs were concluded.

The annual amfAR New York Gala acts as the official kick-off to the New York Fashion Week. It's also held to honor people who have made significant contributions to HIV/AIDS awareness. The black-tie event comes with a seated dinner, musical performances, a live auction event where luxurious items are sold and a special tribute to the gala's honorees.

For this year's gala, aside from honoring top producer Weinstein, Charli XCX and Icona Pop performed for the guests.
