'Trumbo' DVD: Bryan Cranston, Diane Lane, John Goodman Blu-Ray Release Date!

As we previously mentioned, Trumbo follows a blacklisted Hollywood screenwriter who fights back after being jailed for his political beliefs. Known for his work in Roman Holiday and Spartacus, screenwriter Dalton Trumbo (Cranston) finds himself in trouble with the law over his political beliefs. Dalton ambitiously used his words and wit to win two Academy Awards. Only then was he able to expose the absurdity and injustice of the blacklist, which entangled everyone from gossip columnist Hedda Hopper (Mirren) to John Wayne, Kirk Douglas and Otto Preminger.

In an interview with Indiewire, the Breaking Bad actor discusses how he and The Brink director Jay Roach approached the personal and professional implications, "Quite frankly, if it's just about plot of achieving a goal, and not about the human element to it, what is the sacrifice he made? What are the sacrifices his family made? What are the sacrifices his friends made? That's what people relate to, how does this affect them as human beings? That's where the movie really triumphs. We see how it affected the family and the friends and the community, and the fear that was perpetrated and exacerbated by this act."

Cranston adds, "It's a cautionary tale, and any time the First Amendment is in jeopardy of being lost, forgotten, discarded or oppressed, the citizens need to stand up and say, "no, not a chance."

According to DVDs Release Dates, the bonus features of the DVD and Blu-Ray include "Who is Trumbo?" and "Bryan Cranston Becomes Trumbo."

Trumbo arrives on DVD and Blu-Ray stores everywhere on February 16.
