Upcoming 'Glee' star and 'American Idol' runner-up Jessica Sanchez showed off her powerful vocals on Sunday at the White House Easter Egg Roll. The Mexican-Filipino singer sang "The Star Spangled Banner" to kick off the festivities after an introduction from President Barack Obama himself. Sanchez took to Twitter to say how honored she felt by the opportunity.

"Thank you @BarackObama & @Flotus for inviting me to the @WhiteHouse today for your #EasterEggRoll, such an honor!!!" Sanchez tweeted.
Sanchez is the daughter of an officer in the U.S. Navy.
"He's been emailing me back and forth," Sanchez told Fox News. "He's definitely proud."
This is the fourth time Sanchez has been asked to perform the National Anthem at a large-scale event. Sanchez performed the song twice last June at the NBA Finals and to start a boxing match between Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley. Barack Obama must like her rendition because she also did the honors at the Democratic National Convention last November.

Sanchez has been keeping incredibly busy. She just released her debut single "Tonight (feat. Ne-Yo)" and her first studio album Me, You & The Music is due out on April 30. After that, Sanchez is slated to appear as a "legendary diva" on the final two episodes of Glee this season.
What do you think? Was Jessica Sanchez performance of "The Star Spangled Banner" awesome? Are you ready for her appearance on Glee? Will you be picking up a copy of Me, You & The Music on April 30?
