Renowned record producer Rick Rubin considers Eminem "maybe the most obsessive artist" that he's ever worked with - but that's definitely not a bad thing!
The popular music magazine Rolling Stone recently paid tribute to Rubin's monumental career. Basically, the Def Jam Records co-founder "told his life" through the exploration of 21 songs. Rubin included the Detroit emcee's hit MMLP2 track from 2013, "Berzerk" -
"That was a case where Eminem said, 'Let's make one of those old records that we grew up on.' We recorded it around a sample he made of someone on the news saying, 'go berserk.'"
Pretty coo, right?
The 52-year-old industry mogel still considers Slim Shady an "unbelievable student of hip-hop." When the infamous "Rap God" finishes a verse or beat, nothing can be changed:
"[Em] uses his voice as an instrument that plays off of all the different rhythms of the song" (via Yibada).
The rest of Rubin's list is also very interesting - check out the full story here:
From LL Cool J to Kanye West, Slayer to Tom Petty, Johnny Cash to Dixie Chicks, producer reflects on more than three decades of challenging music's status quo.
Meanwhile, several Twitter fans are still hoping for another surprise (solo) record release from the "Love the Way You Lie" superstar sometime this year:
@jcichocki27: "Waiting for @Eminem to drop a new album and put every rapper in their place..."
@nerdyystoner: "Hey @Eminem how about a new album?"
@tymay44: "Damn everyone hyped for @kanyewest new album... And I'm just waiting for the real genius' album @Eminem better make soon #realmusic."
@MasonHolmberg1: "I swear Eminem drops a new album once every 3 years and it explodes."
@cesia_dseg: "I miss Eminem :/ drop a new album already dude, we ready..."
Stay tuned as more details become available!
