While there are rumors that ABC's second Marvel Cinematic Universe series, Agent Carter, could be nearing cancellation after star Hayley Atwell was hired for another ABC pilot, season 2 of the show has brought fans a lot of exciting times. Now, it seems like Peggy Carter might have to team up with her biggest enemy, Dottie Underwood, to beat threatening genius movie star Whitney Frost.
After Whitney Frost (Wynn Everett) nearly killed Peggy in the last episode, "The Atomic Bomb," Peggy's new friend/love interest Jason Wilkes (Reggie Austin), who has been in non-corporeal form for the better part of the season, disappeared out of the blue. To recover him, Peggy must infiltrate a campaign fundraiser for Whitney's husband Calvin (Currie Graham), but seeing as she's injured and everybody will be on the lookout for her, Peggy's obviously a bad choice.
The solution? A "terrible idea": bringing in Dottie Underwood (Bridget Regan), the villain from the first season, to do the dirty work.
According to TV Over Mind, there will be two new episodes of Agent Carter this week: the season's sixth, "Life of the Party," and the seventh, "Monsters." On the first one, Dottie is flown in from New York City to go undercover at the glamorous Hollywood fundraiser, as the team attempts to stop Whitney from getting her hands on Zero Matter and becoming far more powerful than she already is.
Could making a deal with the devil work? As shown in a recent promo for the two-episode event, it appears that Dottie and Jarvis (James D'Arcy) go undercover together, in what looks like a potentially hilarious/disastrous time.
"Peggy is too injured to go out on her own and she's left with no other choice," Dottie actress Regan told TV Guide recently. "She knows no other woman who could handle the situation like Dottie can, and she's left with no other choice, which is so fun for Dottie, because how delicious and validating is it that she comes to her?"
The two new Agent Carter episodes will air this Tuesday on ABC.
