It seems even Justin Bieber couldn't help but get in on the April Fool's Day action. The Biebs used the holiday as an excuse to take down his arch-nemesis, gossip website TMZ. The gossip website that has helped more than any other source to play up the drama surrounding the young superstar's life got a nasty surprise when Bieber played on the devotion of his legion of Twitter followers to disrupt the site.
"As promised taking all fan phone calls TODAY at (888) 847 9869. Talk to u soon!" Bieber tweeted to his nearly 37 million followers yesterday. That particular number happens to be TMZ's tip line.
Billboard pointed out the best part. The 888 area code signifies a toll-free number, meaning TMZ has to foot the bill for the flood of calls from devoted fans.
Bieber has since removed the tweet. However, he left up the tweet that egged on his followers later in the day.
Did everyone call me yet?

"Did everyone call me yet?" Bieber tweeted.
The website that told us everything we could possibly care to know about Bieber's monkey being quarantined, his possible battery charges, his collapse in London, his silly hats, his paparazzo freakout, his (probably) false "pot party" and his relationship with ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez, has been noticeably silent on the issue of being pranked by Bieber, the boy-king.
We'll say, on the record, that it's pretty funny.
What do you think? Does TMZ deserve this Bieber April Fool's Day prank? Or is the Biebs being a jerk? Would you do the same if you had 37 million minions at your disposal?
