As Burnside points out, " The Bruins got a much-needed two points to keep pace with Montreal (they are a point back with 14 games each to play) but a win over Buffalo was just their third in their past eight and that has allowed Ottawa and Toronto to close the gap in what is a surprisingly compelling Northeast Division."
