Kindergarten Cop sounds familiar if you happen to be a '90s kid. However, you're probably wondering if there would ever be a Kindergarten Cop 2 or if there ever was and you just happened to missed it. Nope, there wasn't and you didn't miss it because after 26 years, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment has finally released the trailer for The Kindergarten Cop sequel but with a new lead actor, Dolph Lundgren, replacing Arnold Schwarzenegger, together with Bill Bellamy.
As we the '90s kids all know, Kindergarten Cop is an action-filled comedy about a police officer who works as an undercover teacher. He was tasked to find out who among the kid's father was an international drug dealer. Arnold Schwarzenegger's mission then gives him a mind-boggling experience he will never forget.
What's more is that there were no definite reasons regarding the change of cast. The original film directed by Ivan Reitman as most people know earned more than $200 million dollars globally. Now, millions of viewers like me, are then asking on how would the sequel go? With Dolph Lundgren, a 58-year old Scottish actor, surpass the acting skills of Schwarzenegger's? Or willhe add a little style of his own?
It's mentioned in the trailer that Dolph will be an FBI agent, this time around, contrary to Arnold's police officer magnet. He will be looking for a stolen data as well. But whether he will be fighting a new international criminal or bust a global syndicate is yet to be known. But the real question is, will Dolph gain control over the little troublesome creatures or will he surrender to their mischievous tactics?
Kindergarten Cop 2 is directed by Don Michael Paul and written by David H. Steinberg. The film was also scheduled for released on May 17, 2016, and will be directly available on DVDs and Digital HD. In addition, the DVD released will include deleted scenes and off-camera scenes for kids and family to watch.
