Turns out that was just a prank - obviously. Soon after, another ridiculous Mr. Grey and Miss Steele rumor surfaced online - this time involving Hollywood heartthrob Joseph Gordon-Levitt and starlet Scarlett Johansson! Several "Fifty Shades" fans were not amused... but it turns out (once again) that such "official casting" news was just an April Fools' Day PRANK! There has been a huge amount of fuss made about the upcoming 'Fifty Shades of Grey' movie, with people talking about the project nonstop, ever since it was announced that it was being made. With the Fifty Shades of Grey screenplay almost complete, casting has begun.

The two main characters that everybody cares about are Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, with a number of top Hollywood stars being linked to the roles. While many fans were hoping for an actress who looks just like Anastasia Steele, it seems that a different approach has been made. Anastasia Steele is described as as a "pale, brown-haired, young woman with blue eyes too big for her face. She is pretty but not overly pretty, and shown to be rather insecure about being slim, pale, and scruffy." So it is surprising to learn that Scarlett Johansson has been cast as Anastasia Steele for the Fifty Shades of Grey movie. 

Fans of the 'Fifty Shades of Grey' novels were hoping for either Alexis Bledel or Emilia Clarke for the role, so they are bound to be disappointed to learn that Scarlett Johansson has managed to somehow win the role.

It seems like a strange move to cast Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Christian Grey in the Fifty Shades of Grey movie and no doubt fans will express their displeasure. The role was expected to go to a younger actor, who actually resembled the description of the character, which Joseph Gordon-Levitt does not. Most fans had been calling for either Ian Somerhalder, Matt Bomer, or Henry Cavill to be cast as Christian Grey but the executive producers for the movie have decided to mix things up about. It has been claimed that they decided to tweak the novel slightly, which is why Joseph Gordon-Levitt has been cast.
