Since Jim Carrey's viral Funny or Die video "Cold Dead Hand" caught the attention of news network FOX News, the "Ace Ventura" actor has been in a heated war of wards with the network, mainly "The Five" co-host Greg Gutfeld. The FOX News host blasted Carrey's video for mocking deceased actor and former NRA President Charlton Heston. Since, then both sides have been blasting each other through the media and Twitter.
Carrey's Twitter account @JimCarrey has been the host of a lot of Carrey's anti-gun talk, as well as gun owners blasting the actor. Carrey has been retweeting many of his detractors' tweets, along with his own comments on the issue. Since the onslaught of insults, Carrey has since been retweeting his fans who are coming out in his defense.
Carrey also put out his own official statement, where he calls FOX News "Fux News" and a media colostomy bag among other things. Carrey also calls FOX News a last resort for "kinda-sorta-almost journalists." Carrey states, "I sincerely believe that in time, good people will lose patience with the petty and poisonous behavior of these bullies and Fux News will be remembered as nothing more than a giant culture fart that no amount of Garlique could cure."
Cick here for Jim Carrey's statement regarding FOX News.
Gutfeld has used his co-hosting duties on FOX News show "The Five" to fight back. He recently blasted Carrey, saying Charlton Heston (who is deceased) has a brighter future in films than Carrey. You can watch the video below.
So the feud between Carrey and FOX News has gotten very personal after what began as a parody video from Funny or Die. By the way, the video has over 2.7 million views as of April 2. So now what? This feud is essentialy fueled by a disagreement over the gun control debate, with Carrey being in favor of stricter rules and regulations for gun control, while FOX News and many gun owners believe their Second Amendment rights are being infringed upon by these new proposed rules. Either way, this entire feud has gotten quite nasty.
