The CW network continues with Season 2 of The Flash. After the scarlet speedster made his escape from Earth-2, but with a heavy cost, will Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) learn the the true "identity" behind the unstoppable super villain Zoom (voiced by Tony Todd)?
In our previous recap, Barry traveled to Earth-2 alongside Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) and Cisco (Carlos Valdes). Disguised as his doppelgänger, Barry discovered his counterpart was married to Iris, his mother still alive and married to his father. Meanwhile, Joe West (Jesse L. West) needed Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears)'s help against a metahuman named Geomancer. But danger lurked nearby as Killer Frost (Panabaker) and Deathstorm (Robbie Amell) attacked, starting off the death count.
In our recent recap, while Jay had his rematch with Geomancer, Earth-2 Barry joined Cisco has they searched for Killer Frost, who knew Zoom's hideout. As Killer Frost kept Zoom on ice, the scarlet speedster made his escape, but had to leave the man in the iron mask behind. Though The Flash rescued Wells and his daughter, Caitlin screamed as Zoom drove his fist through Jay's chest and sucked him back to Earth-2 before the portal closed.
In an interview with IGN, executive producers Aaron and Todd Helbing dished on the upcoming story arc.
Todd teases, "The next couple episodes it starts to unravel. You get to see what's really going on,"
Aaron adds, "It really starts to heat up quickly."
And the man in the iron mask? Fans have come up with the theory that it is the real Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears) behind the mask. Todd happened to be very tight-lipped as he stated, "The man in the mask, he's there for a reason."
Expect to see Earth-2 again as Todd reveals, "It's cool, seeing these different realities. Some of these images we're pulling straight from the pages of the comic books, so it's really an amazing experience and a lot of fun."
The Flash continues Season 2 on the CW Tuesdays at 8pm.
Readers, who you think Zoom is on The Flash?
