Kevin Ware recently sat down with ESPN's Sportscenter and gave his first interview since suffering a horrific injury in an Elite Eight game against Duke. The Louisville Cardinals guard seems to have made peace with his injury, saying he has been overwhelmed with support.
Ware has been cleared to travel to with the Cardinals to his hometown of Atlanta for a showdown with the 4 seed Michigan Wolverines. Ware doesn't expect there stay in Atlanta to be any different from road games this season. "It's going to be how it was before the injury, honestly, you know," Ware said. "It's all business. We'll have fun and celebrate. A lot of the guys are still trying to get over the fact of me being out, not being able to play. But I told them, 'You all are going to be hearing the same out of me.'" However, Ware wasn't shy about his aspirations, which echo a lot of the Twitter talk that surrounded his injury. "I just want to win at this point," Ware said in the interview with ESPN. "That would mean so much more to me than anything." Ware has remained upbeat throughout the injury and surgery, spreading good vibes via his Twitter account.
Again I'm thankful for all the support I'm receiving right now. Never thought I'd be the talk of the country. — Kevin Ware (@_billionairebev) April 1, 2013

"I should of blocked that shot tho. Lol," he joked later.
In spite of all his positivity, Ware says he will never look at video of his injury.
"That's just one of those things I'll never want to see," Ware said. "Like when you're a kid and you've got that scary movie that you never want to see. That's just going to be like one of those nightmares I never want to face.
"It happened, and it's in the past, but I've seen the picture. But honestly I don't want to see it. There wouldn't be anything in me -- you couldn't pay me all the money in the world to see it."
If you have the time, clear 15 minutes out of your day and watch the interview above. Seriously.
