Jay-Z may have to admit that he is a businessman (and not just a business, man) after signing Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano to his newly formed Roc Nation sports agency.
Cano left the Scott Boras agency for Jay-Z's agency on Tuesday and posted pictures of him signing his new contract on Twitter.

Cano's marketing efforts will be handled by Jay-Z's Roc Nation Sports (which is essentially a rebranded wing of the Creative Artists Agency) while sports contracts will be negotiated by CAA agent Brodie Van Wagenen.
Cano said in a statement "ready to take a more active role in my endeavors both on and off the field," and that he's "confident that the pairing of Roc Nation Sports and CAA Sports will be essential in helping me accomplish my short- and long-term goals."
"I am making this important decision now, so I can keep my focus on helping the Yankees succeed in 2013, while minimizing any distractions for me and my teammates," Cano added.
According to Wagenen, Jay-Z will not be a name-only leader of the agency.
"Jay will not be out of the loop in any respect of it," Van Wagenen said.
The move to sign with a sports agency started by a rap star gave many people flashbacks to No Limit Sports, Master P's failed attempt at a sports agency that ended after signing then star runningback Ricky Williams to one of the worst deals in modern sports history.
However, Jay-Z has shown himself to be considerably more business-savvy than the head of No Limit. Jay has already successfully run a record company, a clothing line and was instrumental in moving the NBA's Nets to Brooklyn, all while maintaining a successful career as a recording artist.
What do you think of the move? Will signing with Jay-Z help Robinson Cano? Will Roc Nation Sports fare better than No Limit Sports?
