Several online sources reported Wednesday that Daddy Yankee, who's real name is Ramón Luis Ayala Rodríguez, had issued a statement to Univision in which he came out as Gay. The Examiner, reported that Daddy Yankee issued the following statement to Univision.
"Yesterday was displayed certain photographs that show a part of me, which I was not prepared to speak [of] for fear of rejection, of criticism, but especially for my family and its consequences. I believe that now is the time to grow, not only as a human being, but in all aspects.I believe that love is the purest feeling that exists and in this life, having the opportunity to share those moments with someone, which look and forget everything negative, it is a gift of life, I treasure more than myself."
"I do not want to lie and lie out of fear, I love what I do and what I am, my passion, I could never do something else, I feel really bad about not being able to share this with all my friends before, they are the ones I concerned and so I decided to be honest. I wish I could see beyond the note, I am a human being like anyone, flaws and virtues and not think this is a defect, I will not deny."
"I request and I thank the press to respect my family and myself, which concluded the issue with this letter and subsequent statements will not. I have fear and uncertainty, but I rely on my partner, I know that your love is larger than this, I ask with all my heart that I deem to have been honest and above all always be proud of who they are and never make the mistake that I made."
While The Examiner also published pictures of an alleged Daddy Yankee kissing another male, The Huffington Post contacted Daddy Yankee's manager, and he completely denied the gay accusations. Here is the statement that the Huffington Post released Wednesday.
"Once again social networks are the protagonists in spreading false news, which have been replicated by other media involving a public figure. The story that is circulating about Daddy Yankee's homosexuality declaration is a false story written by an Internet portal as many others, dedicated to fabricate and disseminate news through social networks," said Helga García, president of Perfect Partners Public Relations.
Daddy Yankee turned to the very same social network "protagonists" via Twitter to speak out about the gay rumors.
Me han matado, me han difamado y seguirán inventándose mil mierdas sobre mí en la red pero la realidad es solo una.

Translation: They've killed me, they've defamed me and they will continue to invent sh** about me online, but there is only one truth.
Daddy Yankee's sexuality has been question more than two times since he launched his music career in the early '90's. The reggaeton singer garnered international fame with his 2004 album "Barrio Fino," featuring the smash hit "Gasolina. Although Daddy Yankee has denies that he is gay, we wonder what his wife Mireddys González thinks of the rumors?
