'The Strain' Season 3: Guillermo del Toro, Corey Stoll Drama Saturn Awards 2016 Nominations!

Based on Guillermo Del Toro's bestselling graphic novels, published by Dark Horse Comics, the Season 2 finale of The Strain aired on FX. In Season 3 returns, the FX drama starring Corey Stoll has been nominated at the 2016 Saturns Awards.

In our previous recap, Councilwoman Justine Feraldo (Samantha Mathis) had discovered the whereabouts of Zach (Max Charles)'s whereabouts. With the Occido Lumen in the hands of Alonso Creem (Jamie Hector), all bets were off as Abraham Setrakian (David Bradley) had to enter a bidding match with Thomas Eichorst (Richard Sammel). While Eph and Nora tried to reconcile their differences, Gus (Miguel Gomez) and Quinlan (Rupert Penry-Jones) teamed-up to join the battle against The Master.

In our recent recap, because Eldritch Palmer (Jonathan Hyde) pulled out his funding, Abraham won the bidding for the ancient book. As Thomas launched an attack against Abraham, so did Kelly Goodweather (Natalie Brown) against Eph and Nora. As Abraham formed a truce with Quinlan, Nora fought to the death against Kelly for Zach's soul. Unfortunately, Eph was too late to rescue his son and save Nora, who had become infected. Nora had to sacrifice herself before she would let The Master take over.

According to Variety, the nominees to the 44th annual Saturn Awards have been announced. For taking on the role of Zach this sophomore season, Max Charles has earned himself a nod in the Best Younger Actor on TV category. The FX drama itself has been nominated for Best Horror TV Series.

Though this critic has been looking at the Best TV Actress and Best Supporting TV Actress repeatedly, he can't seem to find Mia Maestro's name anywhere. Maestro gave this writer "the feels" just like everyone else on Twitter.

Season 3 of The Strain will return to FX most likely during the summer. The Saturn Awards ceremony will take place in June in Burbank.
