Brandon Watson, one of the stars of truTV's reality show "Black Gold," was arrested last week for reportedly driving while under the influence of alcohol and for hitting parked cars with his vehicle and not posting notice afterwards ("hit-and-run"). Officers said that the 31-year-old oilfield driller was uncooperative with police. He was later released on a $1,500 bond but the news of the incident did not stay private.
According to reports, on top of being intoxicated while allegedly operating his vehicle haphazardly through Midland, Texas, Watson told officers at the scene that he had been administering Xanax to himself. His hit-and-run incidents mount to about $200 in damages to several parked cars. Unfortunately for the oilfield driller and reality television personality, this is not the first time that he has been accused of driving while under the influence.
According to the truTV website for the reality series, the Black Gold star has "attempted to get his life back in order after previously being arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol."
The driller's truTV online biography says:
"He does three things well in his life: roughnecking, drinking and fighting - but not always in that order. This year, Brandon has cut back on drinking and he's trying to clear up his problems with the law. Brandon says that he must complete community service as part of his probation - but all those hours are hard to balance with his responsibilities on the rig."
If the reality television star is indeed convicted of these charges, he could be looking at some time in prison for the crimes. The truTV star and oil field driller has yet to respond to the charges in any way.
"Black Gold" is now in season sic of its sun on truTV with new episodes airing later this week.
