One can describe many astounding reasons why Eye in the Sky, a political thriller is worth watching. But the main reason among all is this -- the feature film is going to be the last film in which the Harry Potter star, known for his role as Severus Snape, Alan Rickman will be seen on 70mm.
The 69-year-old English actor and director Rickman, who won several accolades and applause over the years in movies like Harry Potter series and Die Hard series with his dry wit and the incredible ability to shift from comedy to drama in just a blink, died on Jan. 14, 2016 and would have become septuagenarian on Feb. 21, 2016.
Along with Rickman, Eye in the Sky will feature a stellar award winning star cast including Helen Mirren, Aaron Paul and Barkhad Abdi. According to Variety, the film was initially premiered at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival on Sept. 11, 2015, and Bleecker Street plans to distribute the film in theaters in the United States on March 11, 2016. However, in Sept. 2015, it was reported by Deadline that the Canadian company, Entertainment One has planned to distribute the film in the United Kingdom on April 8, 2016. The media corporation has also planned to distribute the feature film in Belgium, Luxembourg, Spain, New Zealand, and Canada.
Eye in the Sky will follow the story of Colonel Katherine Powell (played by Mirren) who leads a secret drone mission to capture a terrorist group living in Kenya. The entire mission takes a sudden twist when she finds out that the group plans to carry out a suicide attack.
After Rickman's death, he did give voice over to Alice Through the Looking Glass and the short film, This Tortoise Could Save a Life. Watching him on the silver screen in Eye in The Sky, will really be memorable for his fans.
