ABC 'Notorious' Cast: Piper Perabo Joins Daniel Sunjata Pilot After 'Covert Affairs' Series!

ABC has cast the leads of their upcoming drama pilot, Notorious. Two USA Network alums will be joining forces as Piper Perabo (Covert Affairs) and Daniel Sunjata (Graceland) mark their returns to series television.

Written by Drop Dead Diva creator Josh Berman and Suri's Burn Book blogger Allie Hagan, Notorious is described as a provocative look at the interplay of criminal law and the media. The ABC drama follows the professional and personal relationship between a charismatic attorney and a powerhouse television producer The two vie for control of the media, the justice system, and ultimately - each other.

As Deadline reports, Sunjata plays Jake Gregorian, a charismatic and sexy defense attorney. During his court battles, Jake manipulates the media, in order to win cases at any cost.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Coyote Ugly actress has landed the leading role of Julia. A driven producer of the No. 1 TV news program in the country, Julia happens to be squeaky clean on paper, but fights in the mud when necessary. Attractive and strong, Julia is also vulnerable as she attempts to controls the nation's headlines.

As we previously mentioned, in the series finale, Annie (Perabo) had to make a decision between accepting Ryan McQuaid's (Nic Bishop)'s marriage proposal or joining Joan (Kari Matchett)'s CIA task force. Auggie quit the CIA and left his hacker girlfriend Natasha. Arthur (Peter Gallagher) was also contemplating a potential Senate run.

In our MStars interview, when asked about the possibility of a sixth season, Gorham responded, "Listen, I tell you, I think where we end up at the end of this season, I hope it's not the end. We don't end the season on a cliffhanger in the traditional sense. It could be the end. But it's not the end that the audience would be happy with. It's certainly not how we would want to wrap up these characters' stories."
