"Game of Thrones" actress Lena Headey apparently only has about $5 in her bank account. Though she portrays the wealthy, conniving Queen Cersei on the hit HBO show, it looks like her real-life finances are all but dwindled. The 39-year-old actress split from her husband, Peter Loughran, last year and now the two are in a heated legal battle over splitting their $46,000 tax refund from 2011. Headey reportedly asked for a $6,000 emergency advance in order to help provide for the couples' two-year-old son.
Lena Headey says that she is expecting acting compensation in the near future but is reportedly living on credit in order to make ends meet. As part of her plea for the emergency funding, Headey would allow her ex to receive $6,000 as well. Then the remaining $34,000 would be kept in a secure bank account until they decide on an agreement about how to divide the money. Loughran reportedly asked for half of the tax return.
Unfortunately for both Headey and Loughran (and their young son) the presiding judge on the case has denied both of their demands, which leaves the "Game of Thrones" star in the same apparent financial crisis that she had been in before.
On top of her "Game of Thrones" gig, Headey will also be featured in this summer's upcoming "Young Adult" novel adaptation The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones opposite Lily Collins. Mstarz recently reported on the trailer release for this film, which is following in the footsteps of Twilight and The Hunger Games.
Headey is also set to star in the horror, thriller film The Purge opposite Ethan Hawke. The two portray well-off parents of two children during a fictional near future that has no crime because of a one-day a year "purge" where crime is legal. During this particular "purge," their son lets a stranger into the house who is being chased by some scary individuals. Violence ensues. Here is a trailer for The Purge:
