Although Avengers: Age of Ultron has already revealed how Scarlet Witch got her powers and Captain America: Civil War is expected to show more of Wanda Maximoff's story, especially her relationship with Paul Bettany's Vision. Elizabeth Olsen, who plays the Marvel heroine in both films, recently spoke up about the character's connection with the android.
In an interview with ScreenRant, Olsen admitted that Scarlet Witch's powers are actually a result of her childhood interaction with the Mind Stone, which was eventually used by Thor (Chris Hemsworth) to create The Vision. But does this mean that the two characters will get into a romantic relationship in Civil War?
"I think there's something unique in the fact that her powers come from the same thing that powers [Vision], and that is how we've made them have that kind of... that specifically in common," Olsen said, adding that the connection is somehow different from the comic books, where Scarlet Witch and Vision are actually a couple.
In the comics, Wanda and Vision actually end up having children although they turn out to be pieces of the demon Mephisto's soul. In House of M, Scarlet Witch loses her mind and decides to alter reality to bring back her sons. Olsen had previously claimed that she would be interested in working on a film about Wanda if it followed the storyline of the comic book.
"I would just love to have make-believe children and have [Vision] play along with it and then just decide to destroy all mutants," she told USA Today. "That would be so fun but obviously that would never happen."
Captain America: Civil War also stars Chris Evans as Steve Rogers, Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff and Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton. The film will premiere on May 6.
