Last night's  (April 6, 2013) episode of Saturday Night Live was a solid return to form after about a month off for the show. Melissa McCarthy returned for her second time hosting the show and musical guest Phoenix put on two great performances of new songs off of their new album Bankrupt! There were even cameos from Dennis Rodman during the Kim Jong-un Cold Open and Peter Dinklage as "Peter Drunklage, the Drunk Uncle." Some people are calling this episode the best of the season, but what did you think?

As mentioned above, the cold open centered on a Kim Jong-un address, which was essentially about gay-marriage. With Bobby Moynihan doing a solid impression of the North Korean dictator behind subtitles and narration, the sketch itself was a bit confusing and perhaps not that great. It certainly went on for long enough to try to get laughs, but they were few and far between. Luckily Dennis Rodman jumped in at the last minute to announce the start of the show. However he did not even get that right. Yelling "Live IN New York, it's Saturday Night," the former NBA star turned North Korea visitor (for some reason) messed up an incredibly iconic catch phrase ("Live FROM New York ...") and set the mood for the rest of the night.

McCarthy's opening monologue was just her wearing incredibly obnoxious high-heels and not knowing how to walk in them. Yeah, that was it.

Yes, some people have deemed this to be the episode of the season, but really the only great parts were Phoenix's performances and one or two select sketches. McCarthy is an amazing comedic actress who puts her all into every performance, but this time it really felt like a miss.

Here are a few of the sketches followed by the musical performances by Phoenix (which were, again, amazing):
