After being a box-office hit in 2015, it was pretty much expected that Jurassic World will get a possible sequel, and it did. The production of Jurassic World 2 is underway, but the details of the plot have not been revealed by the team except that the upcoming film may have a war between dinosaurs with the big reptiles.

2015 Jurassic World introduced hybrid, Indominus-Rex, that brought chaos to the theme park and at the end of the film, it was defeated by the ancient T-Rex. In an interview with WIRED, director Colin Trevorrow hinted about Jurassic World 2. The director said that the sequel will feature both Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard in the leads and Steven Spielberg will serve as the executive producer. Talking about the film, World director Trevorrow said that the movie will not be just a bunch of dinosaurs chasing around people on an island since that plot has been used many times.

"I feel like the idea that this isn't always going to be limited to theme parks, and there are applications for this science that reach far beyond entertainment."

As reported by Ecumenical News, speculations are swirling around the project, that the next movie will feature a full-fledged war between dinosaurs, particularly with the big reptiles that are now being weaponized. As it was shown in 2015 film, Vic Hoskins (played by Vincent D'Onofrio) was determined to create weapons out of Owen's (played by Pratt) reptiles.

"When you look back at nuclear power and how that started, the first instinct was to weaponize it and, later on, we found it could be used for energy," Trevorrow added to WIRED.

It is still too early to tell about Jurassic World 2 and what it will bring for its viewers. More updates are expected to come soon from the production team. Jurassic World 2 is slated for release on June 22, 2018.
