Whoever has seen Netflix's House of Cards, still remembers the first episode of Season 1, when Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) looks into the camera and tells that he loves his wife more than a shark loves blood. This single dialogue depicted the viciousness that character holds. In the recent seasons, fans saw wreckage in Frank and his Claire's (Robin Wright) political and personal lives. However, things are going to get more vicious in Season 5.
MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD:
Netflix broadcasted all the 13 episodes of Season 4 of House of Cards. This time, the makers of political thriller drama have took the entire series to a whole a new level by showing Claire's departure from the family, introducing Claire's mother, the death of Meechum and how Frank finally realises that the White House is incomplete without Claire. However, the 13th episode also showed one important thing that may become the first episode of Season 5.
The finale episode of Season 4 showed how Claire tried very hard to negotiate with Yusuf Al Ahmadi (Farshad Farahat) to replace the caliphate with a secular government, which at the same time, Frank gave to Tom Hammerschmidt (Boris McGiver). However, things do not go well from both the ends as Ahmadi did not say as he promised and Hammerschmidt publishes the entire story on Telegraph about how Frank betrayed his own party and removed Garrett Walker (Michel Gill).
The episode ends with a note when Frank and Claire both looks at the camera and says, "We don't submit to terror. We make the terror."
Just as Romper speculates, we at MStars News have our own therory as well. Now in order to move ahead in their professional lives, Frank and Claire must become more vicious or else. There might be no light, a chance at redemption, for the Underwood family.
There is a chance that Season 5 will be the end of House of Cards since the showrunner Beau Willimon is not return for the fifth season. According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, Willimon has left House of Cards in order to work on another play that he is currently working on.
There is no official confirmation on the premiere date of Season 6, but we are hoping that Netflix will release the new 13 episodes somewhere between Feb. - April 2017. Stay tuned for more updates on House of Cards.
