NBC is just hours away from an all-new episode of Blindspot. In an exclusive visit to the studio set, MStars News had the opportunity to interview Rob Brown as he talks about playing Agent Edgar Reade in his upcoming arc.

As we previously mentioned, Blindspot follows Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander), who is suddenly discovered in the middle of Times Square. With no memory of who she is, Jane's only clues are placed all over her body. With the help of FBI agent Kurt Weller (Sullivan Stapleton), Jane has to figure what each of the mysterious tattoos mean. But is Jane actually part of the conspiracy that Weller and the rest of his FBI Critical Incident Response Group are seeking answers for? Can Jane truly be trusted or is there an actually traitor in the mix?

As a a loyal member of Kurt Weller's team, Edgar feels he has earned the right to argue when a bad decision is being made. Skeptical at first, Edgar has butted heads with Kurt, especially when the issue comes down to Jane. Never shying away, Edgar has held his own ground, expressing his doubts about Jane's inclusion to the team. Only time will tell if Edgar is right or wrong about Jane.

Before Monday's all-new episode, Erase Weary Youth, of Blindspot, Brown discusses making the transition from film to television, becoming an action hero, and reveals a major lesson he learning during his acting career.

MStars News: Tell me about the making the move from film to TV.

RB: I think my film background has prepared me. I worked with Samuel L. Jackson before [Coach Carter]. He used to say, when he was coming up, theater was like practice. Film was pros. TV was kinda intermediate. That's kinda changed over the years. I remember there was a TV division at William Morris. Then there was film, and there's this.

However, my film background has prepared me for the hours. I get the hours. We're going to do that for a long time. The length and duration for putting up 15 hours a day; that's different. 10 months out of the year.

MS: Tell me about doing these action sequences.

RB: I've done a bunch of sports stuff. That's what I've stressed to Martin [Gero]. "Guys, use my physicality anyway you can. I'll figure some sh*t out." [Laughs] If I can lend myself to that, then use me anyway you can. If I can keep the stuntman at bay, that's what I'll try to do.

My first fight scene on the show, I think went well. I think I'm prepared. Anything new, first time doing so, I've done something similar before. I'm really comfortable. It's a lot of work. I feel prepared. We get paid to wait, the acting's free. That's really what it is. I don't want to be out of breath, that's embarrassing! It's been a lot of fun for me. We run around with guns. This is our cubicle. We "suffer" through this, so that we can run around with guns.

In our recent recap, Jane completed her first task and switched Bethany Mayfair (Marianne Jean-Baptiste)'s pen with a fake. After the mission, Kurt discovered his father lied about the night Taylor went missing because he wanted to commit suicide. Kurt's father was so ashamed of himself as he begged for his son's forgiveness. While Kurt's sister was out secretly on her date with Edgar, Jane learned from Oscar that Orion is where she died. What will happen next when Kurt discovers Edgar is dating his sister?

MS: You mentioned Samuel L. Jackson before. Tell me about working beside Sean Connery in Finding Forrester.

RB: Sean Connery told me to get my education. Because he didn't. My whole life I owe to education. I didn't grow up with privilege. Through scholarship, I was able to find privilege. I was 16, still in high school. Of course there is temptation, but he said, "Hollywood will be there." You get your education because no one told me to do it. That was 16 years ago and he was right.

Blindspot continues Mondays10pm on NBC.
