Andy Samberg is a 'Popstar' in Hilarious New Trailer for The Lonely Island Movie

The funniest trio in comedy, The Lonely Island, is releasing a new film this year, Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping, starring the most famous of the three, Golden Globe winner Andy Samberg.

In the new trailer for the movie, filled with cameos by some of the biggest names in entertainment, Samberg plays Conner, a Justin Bieber-like musician with a huge posse.

Universal has just released the first trailer for the film and on it, Samberg embodies Conner4Real, a pop star whose life is surrounded with some of the biggest A-Listers in the world, including the likes of talent judge megastar Simon Cowell, Usher and Adam Levine. Going through a rough patch, Conner is followed around by a huge team of people, including his wolf trainer, his unicorn handler and umbrella wrangler because, as he says on the trailer, "It takes a whole village to make [him] look dope."

"The comedy goes behind the scenes as singer/rapper Conner4Real (Samberg) faces a crisis of popularity after his sophomore album flops, leaving his fans, sycophants and rivals all wondering what to do when he's no longer the dopest star of all," reads the synopsis, as posted on the film's website.

The singer, who's obviously made it big in the industry at this point, has some of the best fans in the world: just as Bieber has his Beliebers, Conner4Real has his Connfidants. The new mockumentary will go behind the scenes of the current state of his career in a film that looks about as funny as This Is Spinal Tap.

The film was written by Samberg alongside comedy partners Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer, the latter two also directing, and as one would expect from a film by The Lonely Island, the cast is filled with some of the funniest people ever to come out of Saturday Night Live, including Sarah Silverman, Bill Hader and Will Forte.

Popstar will reach theaters next June 3.
