It looks like on top of last night's 2013 Academy of Country Music Awards being an incredible event for the popular music genre, a huge fiasco was avoided by just two miles of separation. Country star Taylor Swift is known for a handful of failed relationships but one in particular with singer John Mayer was a huge deal when it happened. Last night, the two were both featured performers at the awards ceremony with Swift accompanying Tim McGraw on his song "Highway Don't Care" (along with Keith Urban) and then Mayer helping Brad Paisley with some guitar work on "Beat This Summer." These performances were featured back to back, but the actual stages were two miles away from each other.
Swift and Mayer's relationship has been immortalized in her song "Dear John," so there was definitely plenty of concern around the performances tonight. Luckily no drama went down and the ceremony went off without a hitch. Though Swift went home empty handed.
