'Outsiders' Season 2 Renewal: Ryan Hurst, David Morse WGN America Drama Returns!

WGN America has announced the Season 2 renewal their new original drama series, Outsiders. It certainly looks like Big Foster (David Morse) and Little Foster (Ryan Hurst) will continue to defend their mountaintop homestead from the outside world int he upcoming sophomore season.

As we previously mentioned, Outsiders takes place high in the vast Appalachian Mountains. The wild and criminal Farrell Clan is pitted against the outside world, which is even more corrupt than they are. The Farrell Clan have spent 200 years surviving on Shay Mountain. The Clan is up against a group of money-making investors and a small town looking to move them out as they expand. This close-knit family of anti-heroes has to protect themselves in order to preserve their way of life.

In our recent recap, Big Foster was sent to the cage after a heist gone horribly wrong left one of the Farrells dead. While Little Foster took his place in the cage, fooling everyone, Big Foster finish what he started. Nothing stopped Big Foster from killing Lady Ray Farrell (Phyllis Somerville) and drowning her in the tub. The rest of Farrell clan had no choice but to kneel to Big Foster as their king.

According to Variety, WGN America has ordered 13 episodes for the second season. The show has been drawing solid numbers since its January 26 premiere and growing in viewership week to week. To date, the WGN drama is averaging 2.8 million viewers in live-plus-7 ratings.
