In a recent memoir penned by guitarist Dick Wagner, the rock 'n' roller reveals that fellow musician Alice Cooper DENIED actress Raquel Welch's sexual advances back in 1976. Despite the former bikini babe's continued attempts to swoon Cooper, he remained loyal to his longtime girlfriend-turned-wife, Sheryl Goddard. Cooper's band mate egged the rocker on to take advantage of such an envious situation, but he wouldn't do it. Read on for more details.
According to Wagner (who's worked with Cooper, Lou Reed, and KISS among a slew of other legendary musicians), he and Cooper were in Miami for the Super Bowl back in 1976. Welch (an iconic sex symbol of the 1960s and 70s) was also there for a performance. Eventually, Welch invited the boys up to her hotel room suite, and right away Wagner "knew something was up."
That's when Welch allegedly threw herself at Cooper, but the "Schools Out" rock star wouldn't budge. He ended up staying true to his 19-year-old girlfriend (and eventual wife), Sheryl Goddard. Despite some ups and downs, the two are still together today.
At the time, Wagner told Cooper, "You gotta do it at least one time for all us horny bit##s in the world." Wagner writes that Cooper was "crazy not to allow himself to be seduced."
But Welch's advances didn't end there. After trying to seduce Cooper in her room, she continued flirting with him the next day. The two guys were playing golf, when the stunning actress approached again, saying she wanted to sign on as Cooper's caddy. Wagner reveals that to avoid temptation, Cooper quickly fled the golf course without finishing the game.
What a loyal rocker!
