Heading into the start of Week 2 of the MLB 2013 regular season, Bleacher Report sports columnist Joel Reuter predicts the season outlook team power rankings. The Twins head into the 2013 regular season at the no 22 spot - as sports columnist Reuter points out, "The Twins had a tough draw to open the season, facing off against the Tigers and Orioles. Still, they managed to take two of three from each of them. They haven't played particularly well form a statistical standpoint, ranking in the middle of the pack in most pitching and hitting categories, but they've managed to win some ballgames. Mike Pelfrey looked good in his first start back from Tommy John surgery, throwing 5.1 shutout innings and picking up a win. On the other hand, rookie Aaron Hicks has been a disappointment so far, going just 2-for-26 with 11 strikeouts.
The Twins currently hold a 4-2 winning record, having just played the LA Angels and Baltimore Orioles in Week 1.
The Royals snag the no 18 overall spot (out of 30 teams). According to Reuter, "After scoring just five runs over their three-game series with the White Sox, the Royals exploded for a 13-4 victory against the Phillies on Thursday. They wound up taking two of three in Philadelphia. Alex Gordon is off to a hot start, going 10-for-25 with three doubles and a triple, and Billy Butler has a team-high eight RBI despite hitting just .211. Jeremy Guthrie and Luis Mendoza both threw six innings of one-run ball in their starts. New ace James Shields has been knocked around with 18 hits allowed in 12 innings, but he's managed to limit the damage with a 3.75 ERA."
Kansas City heads into Monday's game with three wins and three losses after playing the Tampa Bay Rays and Philadelphia Phillies in Week 1.
The ball game will be broadcasted live on MASN2 and FSKC, but fans can listen in on the radio at 1500 ESPN, KNOX, WIBW, and 610 Sports.
