Chelsea Handler's Netflix Talk Show Announces Title, Air Date & Strange Schedule

Less than two months after Chelsea Handler released her first project with Netflix, docu-series Chelsea Does, the comedienne has announced her next step with the streaming giant turned production company. With Netflix going after its first-ever talk show, following the trend of shows with Handler's name comes the originally titled Chelsea, The hostess has just announced its official air date and schedule!

Last Wednesday, Handler took to Twitter to update fans about her upcoming talk show, which is part of a larger set of projects she's been working on with Netflix. First posting a jokey note on her handwriting saying that the show would be premiering on May 11th, reminding herself not to give up her "dream list" which includes the Pope, Michelle Obama and "Arnold Schwarzenegger's maid."

The talk show host and author later revealed the first details of her upcoming show on a press conference broadcast through Periscope this Thursday, where she detailed they decided on the title Chelsea and the show would be airing three times a week on the streaming site, namely on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, without commercials, since it's the policy of the streaming site.

"We thought long and hard about the title for my new Netflix show and there was a whole team on Netflix who worked on it, we hired a digital department and some small children who work in various countries to help roll this show out," said Handler during her press conference. "And after two or three hours, we came up with the name Chelsea, that's it, just Chelsea; not Just Chelsea, Chelsea, because that's my name. I look forward to people not thinking my last name is Chelsea Lately because that's not even a real last name."

Handler will be making 90 episodes per year and, like her previous talk show on E!, Chelsea Lately, she'll be performing in front of a live audience.
