5 Unique Celebrity Pets Similar to '1989' Singer Taylor Swift’s Hermit Crab

Taylor Swift has admitted she once had a rather unique pet.  At present, the 26-year-old 1989 vocalist has two cats which are named Meredith Grey and Olivia Benson, after the leads in Grey's Anatomy and Law & Order: Special Victim's Unit.  However, before the current domesticated felines, the six-time Grammy winner was once the proud owner of a hermit crab. 

In a recent interview with Us Weekly the "Bad Blood" singer claimed "I used to keep hermit crabs as pets when I was a kid.  One summer, I lost my pet hermit crab before I had to leave the shore to go back to school. I came back to the house that winter and I found my hermit crab wandering around the house still alive."  The story was part of Swift's 25 Things You Didn't Know About Me article.  Other tidbits reveal that her lucky number is 13, she likes it when fans approach her in public and that as a teenager she gave friends pepper spray for protection. 

As far as her love of animals, The "Shake It Off" songstress also revealed that at one time she had a Pug that she named after the rapper Nelly.  She also recently posted an Instagram photo of herself sharing a whipped cream kiss with her mother's dog, a Great Dane ironically named Kitty.

My mom's dog is named Kitty. And yet, she is nothing like a cat.
