Gotham S02E15: Mad Grey Dawn Robin Lord Taylor, Ben McKenzie Premiere Recap!

Fox continues Season 2 of the Batman prequel series, Gotham, with Wrath of the Villains. In episode 15, Mad Grey Dawn, can Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) and Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) handle Dr. Hugo Strange (BD Wong)?

Edward Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) stages a smoking, steals a painting, and spray-paints a question mark in its place. Captain Barnes (Michael Chiklis) assigns Bullock to the robbery, but warns Gordon that Internal Affairs is reopening Theo Galavan's case. Nygma is playing Gordon, who's too busy to investigate Kringle's disappearance. 

Butch (Nate Powell) and Tigress (Jessica Lucas) are surprised to see Penguin inside his mansion. After Penguin apologizes for what he's done, Tigress points her knife at him, mocking his mother's cries for help. Butch though Penguin is worthless now, but Tigress wants to punish him.  

During the investigation, Gordon asks Bullock to ask a friend, Jenny, what IA has on him. Gordon figures out the riddles, which leads hi to Market Street, where Nygma is already planting his bomb. During the bank robbery, Gordon spots the question mark and hears the bomb ticking. Gordon is caught in the shockwave after the bomb explodes.

Young Poison Ivy (Clare Foley) meets Selina (Camren Bicondova) and Bruce (David Mazouz) at her mushroom garden. Selina plans on robbing the gangsters of their drug money. With the gangsters knocked out from the mushrooms, Bruce and Selina are just about to run with money when Sonny suddenly arrives. 

Tarred and feathered, Penguin then makes a visit to Edward. Nygma is even freaked out by former friend, Penguin, and kicks him out. Bullock tells Gordon that IA has a witness who saw the whole thing. 

After Bruce takes a bloody beating from Sonny, Selina causes a distraction and runs away with Wayne. At the cemetery, Penguin talks to his mother's grave and meets Elijah Van Dahl (Paul Rubens). Gertrude never told Elijah that he had son.

Still fighting, Gordon tells Leslie that the case is being reopened. Gordon has to find a way to fix this mess. Elsewhere, Nygma knocks out a police cadet with a crowbar. At his father's estate, Penguin is given a bath and food as Elijah reveals how he met Gertrude. In order to  keep his inheritance, Elijah let Gertrude go but he didn't know she was pregnant.

Knowing his son was all alone in the world, Elijah wants to introduce Penguin to his family. Penguin cries knowing he is truly home. Gordon then finds the cadet's dead body in his apartment room. Barnes steps into the room, sees the corpse, and points his gun at Jim.

Gordon thinks he was framed as Bullock arrests him. As Selina stitches up Bruce, Barnes warns Gordon that his fingerprints are on the crowbar. The dead police cadet was also the witness that came forward to the IA. With Gordon being taken to county, it's up t o Bullock to prove his innocence.

With Gordon found guilty, Bruce knows something is wrong. Barbara (Erin Richards) wakes up after hearing the news. Jim wants Leslie to move on and start a new life with their child. After Penguin is welcomed to the family, Gordon is transferred to Blackgate.
