There have been several rumors surrounding Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, from the possibility that Bizarro will be yet another major supervillain that will appear in the film to speculations that Zack Snyder's son Eli will portray Robin in the DC flick. However, one of the more absurd rumors involves Ben Affleck rewriting the BvS script while wearing his Batman suit. Now the Academy Award winner has decided to speak up about the story!
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Affleck finally addressed the issue about the rewrites.
"That is the dumbest rumor," Affleck said, adding that it sounds even more ridiculous that he had to put on his costume to redo the script.
"I just like how if I was gonna go write, I would put on this Bat Suit first because it's so comfortable to write in," he said.
But did it really happen? Affleck confirmed that he didn't change the script, whether he was in the Batman suit or any other article of clothing.
"I didn't rewrite anything in any outfit, my underwear or otherwise," he shared.
Although a rewrite while wearing the Bat Suit is certainly absurd, most fans might actually be eager to know if Affleck had made any changes to the Batman v Superman script. After all, the Gone Girl star had won his first Oscar for the Good Will Hunting script, which he had co-written with longtime collaborator Matt Damon. Nevertheless, Affleck is not credited as a writer on BvS.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice also stars Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Kal-El, Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Amy Adams as Lois Lane and Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth. The film will crash into theaters on March 25.
