'Aashiqui 3' Cast Confirmed: Siddharth Malhotra & Alia Bhatt's Romance in Mohit Suri's Film

The uproar regarding the cast of Aashiqui 3 has ended as the lead pair of the film has been finalized. It is reported that Kapoor and Sons fame actor Siddharth Malhotra and actress Alia Bhatt will be seen in the musical romantic film from director Mohit Suri. The third installment of the Aashiqui series will be produced by Vishesh Films in collaboration with T-Series.

There have been many rumors swirling around the cast of Aashiqui 3. MStars News earlier reported that Bollywood star, Hrithik Rosan and XXX 3 star Deepika Padukone would be playing the lead in Aashiqui 3, but it was not confirmed by any representatives.

Alia's father and ace filmmaker, Mahesh Bhatt confirmed the news that for the first time his daughter will be working in her father's production house. In conversation with Mumbai Mirror, Mahesh revealed that the production of Aashiqui 3 is still under process and he has met with Siddharth and Alia for the story.

"We have approached Siddharth and Alia to play the lead. But since both these actors are close to home, I would not like to proclaim from the rooftops just yet that it's a go-go till they officially sign the contract."

If everything goes as planned, then Alia and Siddharth will be seen together for the third time. Earlier, they have worked in their debut film, Student of the Year. And recently, they were seen sharing the screen in Kapoor and Sons.

The production of Aashiqui 3 is likely to commence in 2017, reveals Catch News. Since Mohit is currently busy finalizing details from his next project Half Girlfriend and after the release of the romantic drama, he will start working on Aashiqui 3.

The Aashiqui series began in 1990 when the film was released and featured Rahul Roy, Deepak Tijori and Anu Agarwal. Later, the second part of the romantic musical saga was released in 2013, which was directed by Mohit. It featured Aditya Roy Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor as the lead pair.
