Fast and Furious 8 is all set to be released in America on April 14, 2017. Now, after the death of Paul Walker, rumors are rife that celebrated singer and music composer, Justin Bieber will be joining the cast as his replacement to the blockbuster series.
In Jan. 2014, Time reported that Walker's character, Brian O'Conner, would be retiring from the series instead of being killed. The new scenes would be developed in order to allow the action series to continue without him. In April 2014, Walker's brother Cody and Caleb, both of whom closely resemble him, were chosen as stand-ins. According to Deadline, for scenes which required re-creating Walker's face, the Fast and Furious 7 team hired Peter Jackson's Weta Digital to re-create him. Now in Fast 8, the production team wants to cast some new faces.
According to Movie Pilot, "Baby" singer, Bieber is all set to join the ensemble cast of Fast and Furious 8 or Fast 8. As per the publication, the Canadian singer is set to play the role of a character who will take over the role of the late Walker. Bieber will either be playing the role Dominic Toretto's (played by Vin Diesel) new companion or will serve as the partner to Sean Boswell (played by Lucas Black). Other rumors, however, indicates that Bieber will be seen playing altogether a new character in the film, but has yet to be announced by the studio and his representatives.
Apart from Bieber, it is also being reported that Suicide Squad's star, Cara Delevingne, will also be joining the lead cast in Fast 8. However, her role in the film is yet to be revealed. Parent Herald reported that Delevingne's inclusion in the action-thriller franchise will cause friction between her and Michelle Rodriguez. Rodriguez later made it clear that she is excited to work along with Delevingne.
Fast 8 will be directed by F. Gary Gray.
