Reports confirm that MMA-heavyweight Matt Mitrione has been suspended from the UFC for his transpohic rant against fellow fighter, Fallon Fox. Despite initial reservations over how it might affect her aspiring MMA career, Fox publically announced that she was transgendered just last month. During Mitrione's recent appearance on "The MMA Hour," the heavyweight bashed Fox's gender, deeming her a "lying, sick, sociopathic, disgusting freak" who's an embarrassment towards the sport. He also stated that he hopes whoever fights Fox ends up "beating her a##." The UFC prompty suspended Mitrione for his inppropriate comments, insisting that the organization is a "friend and ally of the LGBT community."

Mitrione's offensive rant concluded an April 8 interview on SB Nation's "MMA Hour" hosted by Fuel TV's Ariel Helwani. Mitrione totally bashed Fox, a transgendered fighter who was born a man and underwent gender reassignment surgery in 2006.

"I watched one of the fight videos and holy sh#t, I haven't seen a man beat a woman (like that) since Chris Brown beat Rihanna," Mitrione said in the interview. "That's exceptional how he beats innocent, unknowing women like that."

Mitrione also called Fox a "lying, sick, sociopathic, disgusting freak" who's "an embarrassment" to fighters and to the sport:

"She's not a he. He's a he," Mitrione allegedly exclaimed. "He's chromosomally a man. He had a gender change, not a sex change. He's still a man. He was a man for 31 years. Thirty-one years. That's a couple years younger than I am. He's a man... The woman that's fighting him, props to you. I hope you beat his a##, and I hope he gets blackballed and never fights again, because that's disgusting and I'm appalled by that."

The UFC quickly denounced Mitrione's transphobic slurs and suspended him from the organization:

"The UFC was appalled by the transphobic comments made by heavyweight Matt Mitrione today in an interview on the 'MMA Hour,'" the UFC said in a statement Monday evening. "The organization finds Mr. Mitrione's comments offensive and wholly unacceptable and - as a direct result of this significant breach of the UFC's code of conduct - Mr. Mitrione's UFC contract has been suspended and the incident is being investigated."

The statement concludes with, "The UFC is a friend and ally of the LGBT community, and expects and requires all 450 of its athletes to treat others with dignity and respect."

Fox, a 36-year-old fighter who made her MMA debut last May, announced that she was post-operative transgendered back in March. Although the revelation sparked a heated debate over whether Fox should be allowed to fight other females, Fox was reportedly cleared to apply for a license to fight in Florida. She is expected to take on Allanna Jones in a Championship Fighting Alliance bout next month.
