With only a couple more episodes before The Walking Dead Season 6 finale, fans are already looking forward to seeing Jeffrey Dean Morgan debut as Negan. Now it looks like the villain's arrival in the AMC show will be "faithful" to his first appearance in the comic book, as confirmed by Scott Gimple!
The TWD showrunner recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly, where he admitted that Negan's entrance in the season finale will be true to what happened in the graphic novel.
"Let me put it this way: Whatever [Negan's introduction] is, it's really just all in service to being faithful to the comic book in as much as one can," Gimple stated before explaining the emotional aspect than a page-by-page adaptation.
"That's always going to be relatively subjective as to what that means, but taking inspiration from the moments of the comic book and playing them out to the ends of what it can be," he said, adding that they had to find a way to make it work for the readers as well.
"It's all just like taking that moment from the book and figuring out a way to turn it up to get those feelings that it gave you and those emotions that it gave you that much more," Gimple said.
It certainly sounds like the show will be changing one of the aspects of Negan's entrance, since the baddie actually executed Glenn when he introduced himself to Rick and his group. But if Steven Yeun's character will not be taking a beating from Negan, who will the villain's first victim be?
There is already plenty of concern for Carol (Melissa McBride), who decided to leave Alexandria in "Twice As Far." There are some speculations that the character might end up encountering with the Saviors and will eventually be the one who will be bludgeoned to death in front of the group.
Who will be Negan's first victim in the season finale? Keep watching the sixth season of The Walking Dead, which airs on AMC every Sunday nights.
