"Man of Steel" Warner Bros. new Superman film is fast approaching with a June 14, 2013 release date. Unlike other comic book films like "Iron Man 3" there hasn't been a ton of news leaked about the upcoming movie starring Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Russell Crowe and others. There has been a trailer released and plenty of rumors surrounding Lex Luthor's possible involvement in the film, but not the type of news you see incorporated with other potential blockbuster superhero movies. Now the first TV spot for "Man of Steel" has been released. The 30 second video clip is sure to leave Superman fans wanting to see more.
"Superman Returns" ended up being a disappointment for a lot of Superman fans. The Bryan Singer directed film featured unknown actor Brandon Routh playing Superman and Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor. Unfortunately, what was once the top superhero franchise, has had to go through another reboot. It may be fair to say, the comic book can't afford to go through another reboot after this summer's "Man of Steel." That makes the Zack Snyder and Christopher Nolan film that much more important. "Man of Steel" features and all-star cast, with actors such as Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, and Laurence Fishbourne in supporting roles.
The TV spot (below) continues with a darker feel than I think most Superman fans are used to. It looks as though the central theme in the film will be civilization's inability to accept Clark Kent aka Superman. If this is the direction the movie will go, do you like this angle? It has more of a Batman feeling going on.
There also was a new synopsis for the movie revealed on ManofSteel.com. The synopsis reads:
"A young boy learns that he has extraordinary powers and is not of this Earth. As a young man, he journeys to discover where he came from and what he was sent here to do. But the hero in him must emerge if he is to save the world from annihilation and become the symbol of hope for all mankind."
That's it for now for "Man of Steel" news. Are you excited for "Man of Steel" to hit the theaters this summer?
