'Thor 3' Tom Hiddleston Reacts To James Bond 007 Rumors, His "Favorite Pub Conversations"

There have been several speculations as to who will replace Daniel Craig as James Bond in future 007 films, the most recent one pointing to Thor 3 aka Ragnarok actor Tom Hiddleston taking over as the iconic spy. Now the I Saw The Light star has spoken up about the rumors!

Hiddleston was recently a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, where he offered an explanation as to why fans are considering the possibility that he could be the next James Bond.

"I play a British spy in The Night Manager so I think people have made the link," Hiddleston explained.

But is there any truth to the rumors that the man who plays Loki will soon be 007? Hiddleston's response reflects his admiration for the previous actors who portrayed the spy.

"As somebody who grew up with Sean Connery and Roger Moore, when you mention it, there's a part of me that goes, 'Really?' You know, 'Are you kidding?'" he said before sharing that whoever will be the next 007 is one of the most heavily discussed topics.

"I feel like who's going to be the next James Bond is one of the nation's favorite pub conversations," Hiddleston declared, adding that there is only one other topic that people can stop talking about.

"It's up there with who's going to win X-Factor," he concluded.

Hiddleston isn't the only actor that fans are pushing to take on the role of the infamous British spy. The Jungle Book star Idris Elba has been a fan favorite for some time now. Although the 43-year-old actor has confirmed that he hasn't been contacted to take on the role. It will be up to the people in charge with the money to decide.

"If human beings want to know if there're any connectivity between all of us, the one thing I've heard around the world universally is, 'You'll be great as James Bond,'" Elba told Hello! magazine (via Metro). "So if it was to happen, there you go: the will of the nation."

There is no word yet on whether Craig will reprise his role in future 007 films. Or if he will be replaced by a new actor.
